There is now an easier way to install Micro-manager! To install on Ubuntu/Debian and derivates, you should

• add the Endrov repository. You need not install Endrov itself, just the repository.
• Open up Synapic (System -> Administration), search for micromanager and there you have it.
• You might need a newer ImageJ. Open ImageJ as root (or run "sudo imagej"), then go to help and upgrade.
• There is the debian ImageJ but it had problems 2010-01-15.
